“Forgive” keeps popping up in my life a lot lately. When I think about the word “forgive,” through my personal life experiences, I have learned that what others may or may not do ‘to me’ is not because of me– it is because of their own inner self. Plus I have control over my own feelings and emotions, thoughts and attitude; therefore, no one can make me feel any way without my consent 😉 So instead of being mad or holding grudges against others, I choose to forgive because if I hold that anger within me, it may not only hurt that other person but I know I am doing a lotta damage to myself as well. To add, all that baggage of being mad adds up and all that carrying around gets piled up over time and may take a toll mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially. It is all connected. And this is why all that junk I hold within myself needs to be accepted, cleared and released – to relieve of burden, hurt and pain ~ to free myself ~ and I do this all when I forgive because when I forgive is when I can truly be at peace within myself.
…And so I thought it’d be a good idea to paint the word “Forgive” … the painting I painted (in the image above), I got to reminisce and do a lot of self forgiving and filling my heart up with love and forgiveness so I can share with others. I believe just by doing this (forgiving) and saying a prayer or having a moment of silence, can and will change our humanity and world for the better.
