Firm Taqtics is a Hip-Hop band from Philadelphia who puts on amazing performances especially due to the fact that they always have the audience super hyped and ecstatically pumped as they are doing their thing on stage. I have been to several shows and had a blast at every one of them. I am super excited that I am able to attend an upcoming show this Saturday, August 6th at Dave & Busters Dockside Bar located at 325 N. Columbus Philadelphia, PA 19106; starting at 6:00 PM. Firm Taqtics biography on Facebook states:
“MC’s Tommy C & RickRock linked up in 2006 to form the group Firm Taqtics. Since then, they’ve been making their mark on the Philly underground hip hop scene, rockin venues all throughout the city. With two independent releases under their belt, “Sharp & Precise” (2008) & “Term-Oil” (2010), they continue to grow as a group, experimenting with new styles and sounds. They have recently been performing with a LIVE band, which has taken the aspects of their live show to a whole other level. Band members: Dominic Cole/Guitar, Tim Taylor/Keys, Jeff “Da Bawl Da Beats” Peterman/ Drums.
Make sure you check out their latest mix tape “Term-Oil” available for purchase on cdbaby.com, and stayed tuned for upcoming shows and events.” (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Firm-Taqtics/131054793605186?sk=info).

Tomorrow my son and I will be participating in a walk called the Dash for Organ & Tissue Donor Awareness taking place in my hometown: Philadelphia. We are participating in the walk with a good friend of mine who I basically grew up with since we were in diapers—and her family. The reason we are walking is in memory of a loved one my friend and her family lost—her brother; Jackie McCarron who was only 30 years old at the time of his death. Their eldest sister stated, “This Sunday, April 17th is the Dash for Organ & Tissue Awareness walk/run beginning @ the Art Museum of Philadelphia. My brother Jack donated his organs on April 13th, 2009. He saved 5 lives with his choice to Give the gift of Life. Come out for Our Knight In shining Armor. Our team name is Jack’s Knights.” I am more than happy to be a part of this walk to help keep his memory alive; for he was a tender-hearted, optimistic, loving, caring, amazing person. I am also doing this to help support this family who has been holding up so strong and courageous. Although their hearts ache every single day knowing that he is not here on earth anymore, I am sure his spirit and energy is surrounding them every single day, protecting them; for he is their Angel up above…. In Loving Memory of Jackie McCarron <3

Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks are doing a concert called Heart & Soul Tour and they are stopping at my hometown in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. I am so super excited because I have been listening to Rod Stewart ever since I was a young girl. My mother absolutely loved him and that is why I enjoy his music so much. This is going to be such a special event for me since my mother passed away 14 years ago and it has always been a dream for her to see him Live so I believe I will be helping her live her dream by me attending the concert; as I am sure she will be there with me in spirit. I know that Rod and Stevie are going to put on an amazing show. If you are interesting in going, you have one week to purchase tickets for the Philadelphia area. You could also look in your local area to see if they are playing near you!
“Thomas & Friends Live! On Stage invites pre-schoolers and their families to enter a fanciful world of imagination and adventure where trains with engaging personalities create exciting stories for young and old.” (Allcroft, 2009).
I am a parent of a toddler who adores trains; especially Thomas the Tank Engine. Since I am from Philly, it is only across the bridge to get to Thomas and Friends Live on Stage which is being held this weekend over in New Jersey. I don’t know who is more excited, me or my toddler; since I love seeing him happy and surprised during new events. So I thought I would share this event for anyone who enjoys outings like this just as much as I do. By-the-way, don’t feel you are missing out just because you are too far away; this event also travels around so look up the lists of local shows and times in your area.

“It is becoming increasingly clear through research on the brain as well as other areas of study, that childhood needs play. Play acts as a forward feed mechanism into courageous, creative, rigorous thinking in adulthood.” —Tina Bruce, Professor, LondonMetropolitan
